It is recommended that this procedure be carried out in autumn or early spring. When determining where to plant a pine tree, you must consider its distance to the house and power lines since it grows pretty high. The pine tree should be located at least 5 m from these objects. Planting this tree in a sunny clearing or slightly shaded area is best.
For the pine tree to feel good in your local area, it is essential to extract the seedling from the ground properly. You will need a shovel, water, and a piece of textile. First, you need to measure the size of the lump of earth near the roots, which is approximately equal to the span of the lower branches. Next, you should dig deep from all sides and carefully pull the seedling out of the hole together with the lump of earth. The fabric should be thoroughly moistened with water and wrapped around the root system of the pine. You need to deliver the tree to a new place as soon as possible and plant it since the pine root will die in about 15 minutes in the air.
The width of the planting hole should be one and a half times greater than the size of the tree roots with a lump of earth. A drainage layer of sand, pebbles, and fertile soil is placed at the bottom of the hole. Then 0.5 kg of humus is poured. It will help protect the roots of the young pine from burns. Soil is poured on top, and the thickness of the layer should be about 10 cm. After this, the soil is moistened with water, a seedling is placed in the hole and covered with soil, and the soil around it is mulched with organic matter. If a sunlit area was selected for planting, then it is recommended to slightly shade the seedling until the root system is wholly strengthened.
